About Rick

The posts in this blog are the un-censored derivatives of the mind of Rick.  His irregular and sometimes irreverent views of politics, religion and public issues are often met with varied reactions.  He has been called everything from a “poverty pimp” to “genius.”  He has earned degrees from Campbell University (Buies Creek NC) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Ft Worth TX) in Liberal Arts/Humanities as well as Theology.  In addition, Rick has studied philosophy at the University of Texas Arlington and business management at the University of Phoenix.

Rick  lives close to the geographical center of the United States with his wife of twenty-five years and his youngest son.  Among his many adventures in life, Rick has visited almost every state in the union and over thirty countries across the globe.  In the military, Rick served in the 82nd Airborne  in the Middle East assigned to the Multinational Force and Observers in Egypt and Israel.  In addition, he has been a venture capitalist, business manager, pastor, church planter and counselor and has been a featured speaker for a number of events.  Currently, Rick his enjoying his passion of writing.

When reading Rick’s blog, BreakingLight, do not look for political alliances with the right or left – conservative or liberal.  He believes in universal truth, timeless morality and definitive right and wrong.  Agree or disagree with his positions, you can’t help but look forward to the next post.

    Congrats on finding YOUR way to good health! FWIW, I started at 305 and am 78 lbs down. Amazing that carbohydrate addiction is not more widely known, nor are refined carbohydrates’ effects on appetite discussed.
